The Christmas Tree Search

Volunteers wrap a Christmas tree in netting at Bethel United Methodist Church at Minnieville and Smoketown roads.

The search for Christmas trees is on. At lots all over the Woodbridge area, families are heading out to make their purchases. We stopped in at the parking lot at Bethel United Methodist Church (above) where prices ranged from $25 for a 4-6-foot Scotch Pine to $70 for “Super Tall” 8-9-foot Douglas Fir or Concolor Fir.

A fire was roaring in the fire pit and the Auburn-South Carolina SEC Championship game was on the TV in the shed as volunteers helped families make their selections on a relatively chilly Saturday evening. Trees were chosen, wrapped in netting and strapped to car roofs.
