PWC Fair Opens Its Gates

Three young boys enjoy a ride on the midway at the Prince William County Fair.

The annual Prince William County Fair opened Friday, Aug. 13, at the fairgrounds in Manassas (MAP). The fair, billed as the largest county fair in the state of Virginia, runs through Saturday, Aug. 21.

This year’s theme is “Celebrate Bounty in our County,” and the list of events runs a familiar theme: livestock displays and judgings, truck and tractor pulls, pie-eating contests, lots of music, plenty of rides, baby contests, racing pigs, magic shows, roller derby, dancing pony rides, and much more. All active duty military members are admitted free.

Check out the schedule of events and online ticket purchasing. Online ticket sales will end at 11:59 pm, Thursday, Aug. 12. By pre-purchasing tickets online, you can save $3 ($5 vs. $8 at the gate).
