Community Invited to Review PWC Textbooks

Prince William County Public Schools has announced that the Office of Career and Technical Education (CTE) is in the process of textbook adoption for all CTE programs. Textbooks under consideration for each school site are available for public comment and evaluation. The books will be available to the public for comment from September through November in the libraries of middle and high schools. Books may also be reviewed immediately at the Edward L. Kelly Leadership Center, located at 14715 Bristow Road in Manassas, by contacting Dr. David Eshelman, supervisor of Career and Technical Education at 703-791-7297. The final adoption report will be presented to the School Board for approval by the beginning of 2011.

Textbook evaluations from community members and staff at each school will be sent to the Office of Career and Technical Education by the beginning of November. The CTE Textbook Adoption Committee, comprised of the career and technical education supervisor, CTE specialist, faculty, advisory council members, and administrators, will review all evaluations. This committee will then complete the selection process by presenting their final adoption recommendation to the Prince William County School Board. Upon school board approval, individual schools may then purchase books for use during the following school year.
