PWC Police Renew Campaign Against Agressive Drivers

Wednesday, July 7 — From the Prince William County Police: “Aggressive drivers, beware! The eyes of the Prince William County Police Department are watching you. The second wave of the Smooth Operator aggressive driving campaign … runs through Saturday, July 10, 2010.

Smooth Operator is a regional anti-aggressive driving campaign that involves nearly 30 law enforcement agencies throughout the metropolitan Washington, D.C. area. Prince William County police issued 1,215 citations during the first wave of the enforcement campaign last month.

Prince William County Police will target those offenses most closely associated with aggressive driving. Speeding, driving while intoxicated, reckless driving, failure to wear a seatbelt, and child safety seat violations are just a few of the categories that are targeted during the Smooth Operator campaign. There are additional officers assigned to work this campaign. That means residents can expect to see an increased officer presence on County roads.”
